Vintage Secretaire Chest

The Vintage Secretaire Chest of Drawers is a stunning piece of craftsmanship c.1920, sourced and restored for us in Hungary using traditional techniques.

An unusual find, this charming set of drawers features a hinged top which lifts to reveal a sloping writing surface. Complete with a small raised lip to hold papers in place and original metal supports to secure the top when open, this chest of drawers would have originally have been used as a writing chest or secretaire.

It has been refinished in our beautiful warm neutral plaster shade with an aged waxed finish. The six drawers are left in their natural wood finish internally and offer plenty of storage. Perfect in a bedroom or living space. Perfect in a bedroom, study or living space.

We have been working with our lovely friends in Hungary for many years - a family run carpentry business where skilled craftsman return these beautiful pieces to their former glory and refinish them in our own bespoke colours with a wax finish, bringing them right up to date.
